Temporary Accommodation – Definitions and whether subject to the Subsidy Cap

This is a half-day course – 09:30 am to 12:30 pm;

In brief, the aim of this course is for delegates to have an understanding of –

• • the definition of temporary accommodation excluded from eligibility to claim universal credit housing element;

• • when exempt accommodation status takes precedence;

• • definition of temporary accommodation subject to the subsidy cap;

• • temporary accommodation not subject to the subsidy cap;

• • how to decide whether the type of temporary accommodation is or is not subject to the subsidy cap;

• • what the subsidy cap is and how it is calculated;

• • how to calculate the subsidy cap where placed as homeless for less than a week in more than one dwelling in the same week;

• • tenancy types;

This course includes workshops to aid understanding.
